FOX66 announces 'Golden Award' winning teacher
PIGEON, Mich. - FOX66 is proud to announce this year's golden apple award recipient.
The award provides local students and staff the chance to nominate a K-12 teacher for their hard work.
After tallying thousands of votes Jenna McCormick was declared the FOX66 golden apple award winner.
McCormick is a first grade teacher at Laker Elementary School in Pigeon.
Students watched in excitement as McCormick was presented the award on a field trip by Laker Elementary Principal Kathy Dickens.
"This means the world to me, i'm shocked, can't believe I had so much community support," said McCormick.
"She is an energetic teacher who has students in her heart, we're pleased and blessed to have her," said Laker Principal Kathy Dickens.
"My favorite part is seeing students grow, in good character throughout the year," added McCormick.
