FLINT, Mich. - Children in Flint will soon have a brand new place or places to play.

Crews were out to begin building one of two playgrounds to be completed this week.

If some of these faces look familiar, that's because NBC25 and FOX66 partnered up with the Make an Impact Foundation for Monday's build.

Workers were assembling equipment, hanging signs, laying mulch and cleaning up around the area.

"Flint, Michigan has got a lot of potential and there's a lot of good things that are happening, and all of the things that haven't been perfect back in our history here will hopefully fade away if we keep working on good things like this,” said Dale Gillmore of Make an Impact.

The completion and ribbon cutting for the Broome Park playground will take place Friday.

But volunteers are encouraged to come out Tuesday for the completion and ribbon cutting of the Hasselbring Park playground on Home Avenue in Flint.

Crews will be there at 8 a.m.
