13-year-old charged in Flint double murder

Police say Kareem "Remy" Walters, age 22, was allegedly killed by his 13-year-old brother.


A 13-year-old boy has been charged with murder in the shooting deaths of his brother and his brother's girlfriend.

Flint police say they found the bodies of 22-year-old Kareem Walters and 28-year-old Alexis Frazier in a home on the city's west side just after 4:30 Sunday morning.

Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton told the boy is being held at the Genesee Valley Detention Center. Leyton says the teen will be tried as an adult in juvenile court.

Flint police have a person of interest in the murders of a man and woman on the city's west side.

Police were on the scene of the incident for much of the day Sunday.

Officials say they responded to a house on the 2900 block of Brandon around 4:30 Sunday morning.

They say they found a man and woman inside the home with gunshot wounds.

The male victim, 22-year-old Kareem Walters was pronounced dead at the scene.

The unidentified 28-year-old woman was taken to a hospital where she later died.

A juvenile man is in custody in connection with the shootings.

The Michigan State Police crime lab and Flint Police were on the scene investigating.
