$1M grant to help Kettering University revitalize the University Avenue corridor

A $1M grant is helping Kettering University continue its mission to revitalize the University Avenue corridor in Flint.

The school announced the Department of Justice grant which will be used to help create a safe, walkable place for the community, between campus and downtown.

Kettering University President Robert McMahan said, "We want to be able for our students and faculty and staff and members of the community to feel free to walk, it's safe to walk between the university and downtown and all the great things that are happening in the Saginaw Street area."

McMahan says they're in the planning stages and don't know exactly what the new project will entail, but are excited to start developing ideas.
