Three people under the age of 17 were detained last night as a result of the "special event" curfew put into place by the City of Flint.
Last night was the first night of the new curfew rules, which took effect starting at 6. The curfew rules state that anyone under the age of 17 must be have a parent or guardian present within a defined area of the city. Anyone caught breaking curfew is detained until a parent or guardian shows up. The adult responsible for the minor is then fined $250.
Three people were detained last night, with six adults receiving citations.
The curfew continues tonight and tomorrow. The boundary for the "special event" curfew is Kearsley Street to the north, 3rd Street to the south, Harrison Street on the east and Beach street on the west.
