Detroit police say a 5-year-old girl was shot in the neck when someone fired on a car in which she was riding with her parents.
Police tell WWJ-AM that the shooting happened Sunday just before midnight.
Officer Nicole Kirkwood says someone opened fire on the car from a black SUV. She tells MLive.com that the girl's wounds didn't seem to be life-threatening.
Kirkwood says no one else was injured in the attack, which happened on the city's east side. She says the shooter remains at large.
