7 communities to begin receiving Genesee County water

GENESEE COUNTY, Mich. --The Genesee County Drain Commissioner’s Office announced that the second phase of Genesee County water operations and delivery will begin Friday, December 2017.

A list of the municipalities that will begin receiving Genesee County water are as followed:

  • Clayton Township
  • Flint Township
  • Gaines Township
  • Mundy Township
  • Grand Blanc Township
  • City of Swartz Creek
  • City of Burton

Residents in these areas can expect to begin receiving Genesee County water in their homes as early as this weekend.

The communities listed above will receive the same source water under Genesee County’s system, as they currently receive from Detroit.

The completed Karegnondi Pipeline (KWA) delivers the same Lake Huron water we currently utilize under Detroit, to Genesee County’s new state-of-the-art treatment plant.
