An 8th grader heading to Flint Northwestern was struck by van this morning at 7:30 am.
The van was from Whaley Children's Center and was bringing children to Northwestern.
The 8th grader was crossing the street near West Carpenter Road and Orange Lane. As a result of the van striking her, she broke her collarbone and arm. She also suffered bruises and scrapes on her face.
Her mother rode with her and the paramedics to Hurley Medical Center in Flint.
Officials say the 8th grader is in good condition.
