A list of Genesee County changes to government and waste services because of the weather

      ****Update****

The snow is still covering many roads in the City of Flint, and now the city is sending out a warning.

Move your car for the plows, or it could be towed.

City officials tell NBC25, plow trucks are working to clear residential streets, and residents are urged to move their vehicles from the streets in order to accommodate snow removal efforts.

If a vehicle is parked in the street it can impede the plows' process and delay the removal of snow from city streets.

Per City of Flint Ordinance, vehicles that are found to be hindering city plow trucks will be towed at the owner's expense. The vehicles will be taken to Complete Towing at 3401 N. Dort Highway. They can be reached at 810-235-1711.

      ****Update*****

The snow and cold weather are once again affecting waste collection in the City of Flint.

Due to the extreme weather conditions, Republic Services is suspending waste collection services on January 7, 2014 for the safety of the crews and vehicle fleet.

This is the second day the City of Flint has suspended waste collection. Residents whose normal collection day is Monday will have their garbage picked up later this week.

Normal collection will resume on Monday, January 13, 2014. All other waste collection in Flint will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

      *****End Update*****

The snow has forced not just schools to close, but city and county governments and waste collection has also been hit by the giant Winter storm.

Fenton City Hall will be closed today because of the weather. The Fenton City Council Work Session for tonight has also been postponed. Waste pickup has also been delayed by one day for all pickup days.

The City of Flint has also announced that all waste collection in the city will be delayed by one day. City officials also request that all cars parked in the street be moved so that plow crews can clear the roads.

The City of Grand Blanc has also closed its city offices for today. Trash pickup will also be delayed for all residents by one day.

Clio City Hall has been closed as well, however, tonight's Clio City Commission meeting at 6 this evening will happened as scheduled.
