Alleged motorcycle theft lands pair in jail

Two Shiawassee County men are in jail right now, after police say they tried to steal a motorcycle.

The Prosecuting Attorney has authorized charges on two suspects for their alleged involvement in the motorcycle theft and felonious assault involving shots being fired at a party on E M-21 in Caledonia Township, last Sunday.

24 year old Cory Palacio of Durand has been charged with unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle as well as habitual offender fourth notice. He's in the Shiawassee County Jail without bond.

22 year old Dustin Roller of Owosso has been charged with one count of felonious assault, one count of felony firearm (being in possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony), one count of discharging a firearm while aimed without malice or injury, one count of possession of a firearm while under the influence and one count of reckless use of firearms. He's also in the Shiawassee County Jail under a $20,000 cash/surety bond.

Earlier, police indicated the man they stole the motorcycle from, shot a gun into the air and fired shots at their vehicle. He is also facing charges.

Two additional suspects are anticipated.
