Annual St. Patrick's Day boxed lunch sale held a day early for Catholics
FLINT, Mich. - More than 2,000 lunches were sold Thursday for Catholic Charities annual box lunch sale.
The annual Saint Patrick's Day fundraiser sold out, selling 2,300 lunches this year.
The Flint tradition offers a lunch including a corned beef sandwich on rye.
"You know we all come down here and support this on St. Patrick's Day or the day before St. Patrick's Day and uh...I've been doing this like I said 10 years and it’s just fun. It's good food. I think it’s a win-win for everybody,” said boxed-lunch fan Bob Gardner.
The box lunch sale was held a day early this year since Saint Patrick's Day falls on a Friday.
