Arrest made in the case of missing person Aaron Idle

The Shiawassee County Sheriff's Office announced that they made an arrest in the case of missing person Aaron Idle.

35-year-old James Cummings of Owosso has been charged with lying to a peace officer in regards to a violent crime investigation and as a habitual offender, second notice.

Police say that back on March 23 Cummings was with Idle. While together both Idle and Cummings, according to officials, used controlled substances.

It was during this, says the sheriff's office, that Cummings found Idle dead. They say Cummings then took Idle to a dumpster, and placed him inside.

The dumpster and its contents were later taken to a landfill. Idle's body, police have said in the past, is believed to be unrecoverable.

During the investigation the sheriff's office executed 14 search warrants. Over 20 agencies also assisted in the missing person investigation.

The Shiawassee County Sheriff's Office is now considering their investigation complete. They also say that other charges on other involved parties are forthcoming.
