Classic cars have always been a way to re-live what many call the glory days of the automobile.
Back to the Bricks gives people the chance to really come together, grease their hair back, throw on a leather jacket and share their passion for the past.
Tonight marks the first event night for Back to the Bricks with a viewing of the musical "GREASE".
The event is free with prizes given out for best costume.
Organizers say having a drive-in as a part of this week's festivities makes Back to the Bricks stand out.
"We started this as an alternate to the woodward dream cruise, and at that time they had a problem with gridlock" says Al Hatch, Chairman for Back to the Bricks.
"Our formats a little bit different than theirs in as much as we got the drive-in and then we block off all of downtown".
Organizers also say classic car lovers enjoy Back to the Bricks more due to the more intimate feel of the entire event.
Events are scheduled all week with the Opening Ceremony on Saturday.
