Bay City declares water use emergency

Bay City officials are declaring a water use emergency.

Officials say the water plant is experiencing a very high water demand indicating that there is a broken water main.

That water main break has not been located just yet.

Officials are now banning non-essential use of drinking water.

They are asking neighbors to not use water for watering gardens, sidewalks and cars. Officials are also asking neighbors to not withdraw water from public or private fire hydrants.

The water usage ban applies to all consumers who receive their water from the Bay City Water Treatment Plant.

If you notice abnormal water flow, please report it to 888-636-4211.
