Bay City kicks off new recycling campaign
Bay City, Mich.-- Bay City's taking new steps to up its recycling rate by kicking off a new campaign called Take Pride At Curbside.
Right now city households recycle less than half the national average.
The city says they don't know exactly why people aren't recycling.
They plan to go into schools and educate people more about its importance.
Including what you can and can't put into recycling bins.
“A big one is aerosol cans if they're completely empty and not pressurized they can be recycled. A big one we don't want is propane tanks or any pressurized vessel,” said Tim Botzau, Interim Parks and Sanitation Manager.
Bay City's end goal is keeping mother happy by having a cleaner environment.
Their next step is rolling out an app around Earth Day.
