Bay County to consider anti-discrimination measure

Leaders in Bay County plan to consider a measure to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
Bay County's Ways and Means Committee plans to review the ordinance at its Tuesday meeting. The committee could send the ordinance to the full Board of Commissioners for consideration and a public hearing before a final vote.
County Commissioner Don Tilley says the ordinance has been in the works for several months and is modeled after similar measures adopted in other Michigan communities.
Tilley says the ordinance would affect entities owned and operated Bay County, as well as contracts the government makes.
