Behind the scenes of American Muscle Motorway statues

We went behind the scenes to find out how the sculptures were made.

The 2012 American Muscle Motorway is set to get underway on August 13 in downtown Flint.

One of the exciting twists in this year's event are several bronzed life-size statues of automaker pioneers.

We got a unique opportunity to go behind-the-scenes to see just how these statues were made in preparation for this year's event.

About the 2012 American Muscle Motorway

Diplotmat Specialty Pharmacy and ELGA Credit Union along with media partners NBC25 and WRSR 103.9 The Fox is proud to present the 2012 American Muscle Motorway. This year's event will take place on August 13 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at the Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy Atrium on 4100 S. Saginaw Street in Flint. Join us for an evening of live music, entertainment, cocktails, delicious food, 1950's & 1960's attire and of course, muscle cars! A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Back to the Bricks Automotive Pioneer Statue Fund. The fund is used to create life-sized, bronze statues commemorating the early pioneers of the auto industry whose careers took hold in Flint.
