Big changes for Crim Festival of Races

Flint's oldest and most sucessful race is changing. The Crim Festival of Races is getting a title sponsor, a new course and other changes.
The Crim Fitness Foundation says HealthPlus will be the first ever title sponsor of the 2013 and 2014 races.
Portions of the 2013 HealthPlus Crim Festival of Races will take place over new territory starting this year, with changes to its 10 Mile, 5K, and Michigan Mile courses. The new routes have been plotted to preserve the best features of each course, highlight new and exciting parts of Downtown Flint, and accommodate additional numbers of participants. In addition, the new routes will allow for improved access to the growing Downtown Flint area during the Festival.
In addition to the new routes, the Crim is excited to announce that for the first time, the Michigan Mile, the Crimâ??s one-mile race, will take place the evening of Friday, August 23. This change will make it easier for more runners and walkers to participate in this increasingly popular event that features the only â??Block Mâ?? medal for race finishers. The Michigan Mile will follow the Professional Mile, Michiganâ??s premier invitation-only one-mile race for elite runners.
