Boys and Girls Club of Flint giving out free plants to brighten yards

With autumn underway, the Boys and Girls Club of Flint is teaming up with Walker Farms to brighten the yards of residents.

Perennials, bushes, and tomatoes were being given out for free today.

Walker Farms donated surplus plants, helping the Boys and Girls Club give back to their community.

This is not the first year Walker Farms has donated plants, and members say it will not be the last.

"This is actually the second year that we have been doing it" says development director Sarah Pinder.

"It's through the generosity of Walker Farms that we can do a little bit toward beautification of peoples yards".

The event lasts until 7pm today but any leftover plants will be available for pick-up tomorrow as well.
