The Buena Vista Township School District has until 5 p.m. Monday to secure a loan to fund the future of the district.

During a public hearing this morning in Lansing, State Superintendent Mike Flanagan said the Buena Vista and Inkster School Districts would be granted an extension to secure funding.

If Buena Vista does not secure a loan by the deadline the Department of Education will then send a letter to the Saginaw Intermediate School District saying the Buena Vista District will be dissolved.
