The Buena Vista Township school district will be dissolved.

The Buena Vista Township School District will be dissolved.

State Superintendent, Mike Flanagan, and State Treasurer, Andy Dillon, gave the cash strapped district until 5 p.m. Monday to come up with a loan from a private institution to fund the upcoming school year.

Buena Vista was unable to secure a loan and will now be dissolved.

There will be an information meeting for parents on Wednesday July 24th at 6 p.m. at Buena Vista High School.

The forum will offer parents and residents an opportunity to discuss future education programs for all students who previously attended schools in the Buena Vista schools.

The Saginaw Intermediate School District Board of Education will schedule a meeting during the week of July 29, 2013 to discuss the dissolution of the district.

NBC25's Walter Smith-Randolph will have the latest coming up on NBC25 News at 6.
