With chilly temperatures sweeping across Mid-Michigan, Catholic Charities is helping people stay warm.
Since October 1, Catholic Charities' Community Closet has given out more than 1,000 coats.
Coats are available for anyone; however, there is a one coat per person limit.
Community Closets in Flint and Owosso are having trouble keeping up with demand.
They are asking for children's coats in Flint and blankets at the Owosso location.
The closets depend 100% on community donations.
"Anything like that is greatly needed in both communities. Shiawassee and also our community closet here in Genesee County so anybody can clean out their closets and bring us some old blankets comforters it would greatly be appreciated," said Vicky Shultz, CEO Catholic Charities.
Catholic Charities also hosts a warming center off fifth street in Flint.
