Catholic Charities helping residents cool off

It's going to be hot this week and Catholic Charities, in Flint, is doing what they can to keep residents cool.

The North East Soup Kitchen is extending its hours to serve as a cooling center this week.

The NESK is located at 735 E. Stewart Street in Flint and will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Guests can get some relief from the heat in the air-conditioned dining room, enjoy a glass of cold water, and kick back in front of the television while avoiding the hot and humid conditions outside.

The soup kitchen will also be serving lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30pm, and dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Catholic Charities is also accepting donations of new and gently used fans to help residents cool down during the summer months.
