Central Michigan professor's research gets support

A Central Michigan University physics professor and other scientists have been awarded $8.5 million from the U.S. Department of Defense to support research.

The Mount Pleasant school recently announced that the money for Marco Fornari's work is to help replace expensive, rare chemical elements from critical technologies.

The team's proposal, "Rare Element Replacement Strategies," is a combined effort between Fornari and colleagues at several other schools.
