Charges reduced for father who allegedly helped kidnap his infant

Police say 4½-month-old Katherine Shelbie-Elizabeth Phillips was taken Wednesday.

A Michigan father, who is police believe may have something to do with the disappearance of his 4-month-old daughter, might not face as harsh of charges as originally issued.

The Associated Press reports a judge dismissed kidnapping charges against 21-year-old Sean Phillips. He still faces parental kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment charges, but instead of facing life in prison, he now only faces a 15 year sentence.

Phillips TM daughter, Katherine Shelbie-Elizabeth Phillips, went missing on June 29th. Police issued an amber alert, and believed she was in extreme danger. Their investigation later led them to believe that her father may have had something to do with it.

Little Katherine is still missing, and police are still trying to locate her. If you have any information on her whereabouts, please call the authorities at 888-786-7274.
