Children find human remains behind Standish market

Officials said three children found partial remains of a person behind a grocery store in Standish City.

The Arenac County Sheriff's Office, the Standish City Police Department, the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police conducted a search of the nearby woods and found the rest of the body.

The police said that the children found the partial remains behind the Family Fare Grocery Store on the 500 block of Main Street.

The Michigan State Police Crime Lab has responded and is investigating the scene.

The remains have not been identified at this time.

NBC25 contacted the Arenac County Sheriff's Office for more information. The sheriff's office said they have no further comment at this time.
