Coast Guard rescues two adults, two children after stranded for hours

Members of the Essexville Coast Guard Station helped rescue two adults and two children early Sunday morning after they were stranded in the Saginaw Bay for more than eight hours.

Coast Guard officials were alerted that a vessel went missing Saturday night and began search and rescue efforts.

A crew from Essexville assisted the Coast Guard Sector Detroit and they were able to locate the missing people using radar.

No injuries are reported.

The people have not been identified.

The Coast Guard urge people to carry emergency equipment on board vessels.
