Cold, wet weather doesn’t stop deer widows from hunting for deals
BIRCH RUN, Mich. --Traditionally on this first weekend of the firearm deer hunting season, area shopping centers offer deals to lure what's called deer hunting widows.
This year is no exception.
NBC25/FOX66’s Sarah Jaeger talked with people who have been coming to the Birch Run Premium Outlets for years, even decades to hunt for deals.
They say despite the weather numbers are up. More people are coming out to save a buck while the guys are off bagging a buck.
Stores offering anywhere from 20 to 50% off merchandise.
A few stores even had lines out the door just to get in.
In addition to the sales, shoppers can stop by deer camp for drinks and live entertainment.
Stores will be open until 9 p.m. Saturday night and then from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
