Cosens MMA Announces April 30 "Top of the Card"

Bay City " Cosens MMA and Conditioning of Bay City in association with Blackout Cage Fighting Promotions today announced details of its highest profile fights, which will take place on Friday, April 30 at the Bay County Civic Arena located at 4231 Shrestha Drive. The event has been titled, Battlefield " by Blackout promoter Mark Cosens.

"This will be a high profile event," said Charlie Cosens, owner of Cosens MMA. "It can't help but be given the cadre of local fighters entering the cage this Friday. United States Marine and Iraq combat veteran Bill Fent, Isaac Babinski, and Chris Gonzalez are practically synonymous with local cage fighting and by themselves a huge draw, but into this mix we will be throwing our first female fighter, mom and Delta College instructor Crystal Starkey," added Cosens.

Starkey will be fighting Robin Smith of Traverse City and was the subject of a two page feature story titled: " Starkey: Not Your Typical Cage Fighter " in last Sunday's Midland Daily News.

This event will represent a change for Cosens MMA and Blackout Cage Fighting Promotions insofar as it is being held in a new and larger venue, the Bay County Civic Arena.

"The explosive growth of this sport in general and Charlie's gym specifically have practically pushed us into this facility, which can accommodate more than 1,200 fight fans," said Mark Cosens. "Charlie Cosens and I want the Bay City area to become synomymous with the best in Mixed Martial Arts training and fight entertainment in Michigan, said the promoter. "We believe this event is a big step toward making that happen."

Friday's "Battlefield" is currently scheduled to feature more than 20 fights. The highest profile of these are listed below. Cosens MMA fighters are listed first.

Bill Fent versus John Krueger

Isaac Babinski versus Derrick Florie

Chris Gonzales versus Errin McPherson

Crystal Starkey versus Robin Smith
