Daisy, the rescued dog, will be available for a meet and greet Saturday

Daisy was rescued off the side of the road.

The dog that Mid-Michigan has grown to love will be available for a meet and greet Saturday.

In early February, someone posted on Craigslist that they saw a nearly dead boxer tied up at the corner of Branch and Carpenter Roads in Genesee Township. The post broke Mary Schaap TMs heart and she set out to find the dog.

When Schapp finally tracked her down, the dog was suffering from malnourishment and neglect. Schapp took the dog, who they soon named Daisy, to the Westwood Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Christian Miller and his team performed several surgeries to rescue Daisy and nurse her back to health.

Since then, Schaap and her daughter, Paige, have adopted Daisy and are nursing her back to health.

NBC25 received dozens of comments on, emails, phone calls, and questions from viewers concerned for Daisy.

Now, Daisy will be available for all of her NBC25 fans to meet. She will be at the Companion Dog Training Club of Flint, located at 4126 Holiday Drive, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm Saturday.

Be sure to stop by and say hello to the boxer who touched Mid-Michigan TMs heart!
