A major project in downtown Davison is set to begin in a couple of weeks.
The city council and the Downtown Development Authority broke ground this evening on the project that will widen Main Street, replace the sidewalk and add more street lighting.
Angled parking in front of downtown businesses will be maintained on both sides of the street.
??We hope the residents still understand the need to come downtown, everything will be open, every business will be open during construction and have access to their buildings,?? Davison Mayor Tim Bishop said.
The downtown project will also include a water main replacement and the addition of a welcome archway.
Construction is scheduled to begin the second week of July and wrap up by early October.
