Demolition to start Monday on old Grand Blanc gas station

Demolition of the old CITGO gas station on Saginaw Street in Grand Blanc is expected to begin on Monday. This is a proposed design for the building that will replace it.

The City Manager of Grand Blanc says that the demolition of the old CITGO station in downtown Grand Blanc is expected to begin on Monday.

There has been a gas station at this location on South Saginaw Street since 1957. The gas station that is there now, according to the city manager, was built in 1988.

A building that sits next door to the gas station is also planned for demolition.

The old gas station and its tanks, along with the building next door, will all be removed from the site at an estimated cost of $903,000. City officials say this will be paid over 25 years out of the city's Brownfield Development Authority.

Two new structures are already planned for the site. Demolition is schedule to begin Monday, September 30, at 8 am.
