Downtown Saginaw lights up the heart of the city for the holidays
SAGINAW, Mich. - The big Christmas tree was lit up Friday in Saginaw at the annual Holidays in the Heart of the City.
Kids lined up for a chance to meet Santa Claus, while others enjoyed free horse drawn wagon rides.
For many this is the unofficial start of the holiday season.
"I think it's awesome, I love the fact that so many have come out tonight, and we believe that Jesus is the reason for the season, and we just love to celebrate early as a family and to come out and start the season early with the city is pretty cool,” said resident Toni Whelton.
Later on people were treated to fireworks over Ojibway Island.
