Drought brings slight dip to Christmas tree harvests

T he Friday after Thanksgiving is often the time when people start to purchase their Christmas trees.

T his year's drought did take a bit of a toll.

T he National Christmas Tree Association is saying rainfall is the biggest factor. But they say most of the trees affected were younger and would not have been marketable by Dec. 25.

I n fact , the biggest effect will be in about eight years when growers sell trees that are smaller because of the weather.
