Elected officials salute America's fallen heroes

Elected officials and members of the community are paying their respects to those who fought and are fighting for our freedom.

A 21 gun salute and the sound of TAPS rang through Flint Cemetery where several soldiers from past wars are laid to rest.

Mayor Dayne Walling and newly-elected Senator Jim Ananich joined the Young Marines in honoring the men and women who gave all they had for freedom.

"I am reminded of the extraordinary sacrifice that the individuals who are buried here made for us," said Mayor Walling, Flint.
