Emergency crews responding to helicopter crash in Tuscola County


The pilot and passenger and passenger of a McDonnell Douglas Helicopter walked away without major injuries Thursday night after officials said told their aircraft lost power and forced them to land in a field in Tuscola County.

The crash landing happened just before 6p.m. off Quanicasse Road, between Van Giesen and Dixon Roads.

Reese Fire along with the Tuscola County Sheriff's Department responded.

We're told the pilot and single passenger walked away from the scene.

Nearby residents said the helicopter has been doing work on power lines in the area.

According to officials, preliminary reports show the aircraft lost power.

Tuscola County central dispatch confirms that emergency crews are responding to a helicopter crash near Dixon Road & Quanicassee Road in Tuscola County.

It happened around 6 o'clock Thursday evening. The Reese fire department is on scene.

No injuries have been reported yet.
