A joyful couple is now able to marry at Bay City's James Clements Airport.
30-year-old Kevin Holcomb is a professional pilot and wanted to hold his wedding ceremony at the airport.
He and his 29-year-old fiance, Karen Engle, say that getting the needed local, state, and federal approvals has been a long and challenging effort.
The Bay City Commission voted unanimously to give the final permission to allow the wedding on the airport grounds.
Karen's reaction was ecstatic, "I'm relieved, I'm speechless. It's something that I have wanted all year and now I've got it".
Despite the set-backs the couple says they are stronger for it.
Kevin and Karen will tie the knot this coming Saturday at 3 pm.
They will pay a fee of $942 to rent the site.
