Friends and family of murdered 4-year-old Dominick Calhoun will gather to mark the one year anniversary of his death today.

The little boy died at 11:02 a.m. on April 12, 2010.

You are invited to take time to mark what family members are calling Dominick TMs Angel-versary today at an event at Finch Park in Linden. It will take place from 6-9 p.m.

Argentine Township Police say Dominick TMs mother TMs boyfriend Brandon Hayes, 24, tortured him for days at his family TMs apartment after the child wet himself on a sofa days before his death.

Police say neighbors heard the abuse, but did not call. Police responded to the apartment on Sunday after a relative discovered the terror taking place there.

Brandon Hayes is in the Genesee County Jail facing numerous charges including torture, first degree murder, and child abuse.

Dominick TMs mom Corrine Baker is in prison serving a sentence for a probation violation. She was on probation for a drug crime when Dominick died. She was not supposed to associate with felons or live in a house where there were drugs. Brandon Hayes had a felony record and police say they found drugs in the home.

Baker is also charged with second degree murder and child abuse for the death of her son. Police say she could have done more to save her baby from Brandon Hayes.

Both are expected to face trial in July.

Dominick TMs death sparked a movement on-line. More than 100,000 people became fans of facebook pages in his honor. They have worked to raise money for domestic violence victims, kids in need, and local charities. They also have urged the passing of legislation making it a crime to not report child abuse to police.

A post on the Dominick TMs Law facebook page today read, On this day God decided he needed a warrior to awake a nation that we were letting our Children be beat to death. Dominick not only woke up a nation he woke up the world.
