Michigan State Police have arrested a married couple accused of killing State Trooper Paul Butterfield.

Family members have identified the suspects as Eric and Sarah Knysz. Sarah who also goes by the last name of Craft is from Shiawassee County.

NBC25 News spoke with Sarah Knysz's aunt, Amy Craft Hill, who lives in Owosso. She says she is not talking to anyone about the deadly shooting until all the details surface.

WOOD-TV reports Eric and Sarah have been married for about a year and a half and Sarah is six months pregnant.

Sarah is behind bars Tuesday tonight while her husband, the other suspect, is recovering from a gunshot wound sustained during a shoot out with police shortly before his arrest.

Although Sarah Knyszâ??s family is not speaking, her father-in-law is. Jack Knysz, Ericâ??s father, is a former Chicago-area police officer. He tells WOOD-TV that this is the worst day of his life. He admits his son has had several run-ins with law enforcement before but says he never thought his son would commit such a heinous crime.

Eric Knysz is at Munson Hospital in Traverse City recovering from that gun shot wound to knee. As for Sarah Knysz, she's behind bars at the Mason County Sheriffâ??s Department.
