The Kochville Township Fire Department is celebrating 40 years of service and showing off their skills to the public.
The open house giving members of the community a chance to learn about the men, women and tools dedicated to protecting them.
The department was founded in 1973 when a home in Century Park caught fire.
It sparked a public push to establish a department.
Now, the department has about two dozen members that work to protect the community from medical and fire emergencies.
"I got three compliments just today and what a great turnout and great event to pull the community together and that's really what were all about. The members here aren't career firefighters they volunteer for their community and it's great to have them here," said Alan Malesky, Kochville Twp fir Fire Chief.
The department is using donations from Saturday to start an annual scholarship fund for kids in their area.
