A fire ripped through an abandoned meat packaging plant located on Chippewa Street around 12:30p.m. Saturday.
The Flint Fire Department responded just as the roof of the building was collapsing.
No firefighters entered the building but worked to contain the blaze.
Officials say there was still power and electricity hooked up to the building.
The abandoned plant has been on the city's demolition list since December 2011.
Officials do not know what caused the fire at this time.
No damage estimate is available.
