Fisher Body offices finding new life as military Veterans Resource Center

Soon veterans will be able to go to just one place in order to receive the benefits they have earned.

The old Fisher Body office in Flint will become active again as a one-stop place for military veterans to get the benefits they have earned.

Michigan is currently ranked 47th in the country for how it deals with veteran benefits.

Right now if a veteran needs to access their benefits, it is a maze of different buildings, people and paperwork.

Starting April 11 at 10 a.m. local veterans should find getting those benefits a whole lot easier.

The Veterans Resource Center will be able to help with items like healthcare and education.

Additionally, the Career Alliance will be there to help veterans find jobs.

Goodwill is supplying labor to help get everything started with volunteers from the area plus students from Mott Community College and the University of Michigan Flint.

The new Veterans Resource Center will be located at 4400 Saginaw Street in Flint, at the Great Lakes Tech Center right across from Diplomat Pharmacy.
