The Flint City Council once again postponed voting on an ordinance that would force medical marijuana dispensaries to move.
The proposed ordinance requires dispensaries to be at least 1,000 feet away from a church, school or park. Businesses that opened before the city put a moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries in August 2011 would be grandfathered in and allowed to stay at their current location.
Council President Scott Kincaid estimates about six or seven dispensaries would have to move.
"We want to make them available because by law they're available, but we want to not be saturated with them in neighborhoods and churches and schools and things like that,?? Kincaid said.
The council will likely vote on the issue next month.
