Flint closes government offices due to winter storm

Flint officials say it will take plow crews 48 hours before clearing all city roads.


Flint City Hall will be closed to the public for normal business operations Tuesday, January 7, 2014 due to hazardous weather conditions.

Emergency Manager Darnell Earley hopes to reopen Flint City Hall on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 pending the further evaluation of weather conditions.

The City of Flint is closing all government offices Monday due to the winter storm impacting the area.

The city received more than 16 inches of snow Sunday night.

Road crews are out plowing major streets. The city expects plows to start removing snow on residential streets this evening. City officials tell NBC 25 that it may take 48 hours to plow all city streets. The city has issued a snow advisory, urging all residents to remove vehicles from city streets to give plow trucks better passage.
