A Flint family is in need of help after a house fire left them homeless during this weekâ??s deep freeze.
The Simpson family lost everything Tuesday, when their home on Lorado Street went up in flames.
The Red Cross is providing the family of five with a hotel room at the Baymont Inn until Friday.
Pastor Keith Oâ??Neal and his organization, the Good Samaritan Network, is now rallying the community to help gather some basic necessities for the family, including kidsâ?? clothing, a place to stay and monetary donations to help the Simpsons get back on their feet.
â??One day we were doing a snow challenge on Facebook laughing, giggling,â?? Latika Simpson said. â??The next day, the same house we were doing that snow challenge at don't exist anymore, just that fast."
Simpson has four children: an 18-year-old daughter; 14-year-old daughter turning 15 this week; 4-year-old daughter; and 5-year-old son.
â??We're working really hard to appeal to Mid-Michigan to please step up, this need is immediate, it's urgent and we are asking you to respond,â?? Pastor Oâ??Neal said.
