Flint Fresh breaks ground on food hub
FLINT, Mich. --Access to fresh fruits and vegetables will soon get a little easier in Flint.
Flint Fresh is taking their game to the next level, breaking ground on their new food hub.
The 26,000 square foot facility on Court Street will be the permanent base of operations for Flint Fresh Mobile Market and Veggie Box programs.
The goal is to help distribute local, fresh food and meat to schools, medical centers and restaurants.
"We're just so happy to be able to bring local produce, keep it in our community, provide jobs. We are going to be supporting local farmers,” said Flint Fresh President Pam Bailey.
The food hub is expected to be complete in spring of 2018.
