Flint man faces criminal charges after kicking a puppy

A Flint man is facing criminal charges for animal abuse after injuring a puppy so badly it had to be euthanized.

Sheriff Robert Pickell tells us the puppy was kicked like a soccer ball from the living room to the kitchen in January.

The dog's internal injuries were examined by a veterinarian before a decision was made to euthanize the animal.

Pickell says this man roger parsons, kicked the dog for repeatedly urinating on the floor of the home on Madison Avenue in flints south end.

After parson's roommates took the dog to the vet, Pickell says they found the dog had a medical issue, making the dog unable to control its waste.

Parsons was arraigned on one count of cruelty to an animal, a 93 day misdemeanor.

Because this is one incident with one dog, 93 days is the maximum penalty.
