Flint police investigate Monday afternoon shooting death

Mon, 24 Jun 2013 22:53:54 GMT — Flint police are investigating the shooting death of a 23-year-old man Monday afternoon. Police tell NBC25 officers responded to the 100 block of Austin off Martin Luther King Ave. shortly after noon Monday for a report of a shooting. Officers found evidence of a shooting but no victim. They later learned the victim arrived at Hurley Medical Center in his own vehicle and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Witnesses told police they saw a grey, 1990 Ford Escort station wagon fleeing the scene of the shooting. Police have identified the victim as 23-year-old Demetrius Charles Edwards. Anyone with information is asked to call Flint Police or Crime Stoppers.
