A Flint teenager was sentenced today to manslaughter in the stabbing death of his mother's boyfriend.
19-year-old Devonte Pittmon was in court this morning and sentenced to manslaughter for the beating and stabbing death of 28-year-old Nemya Roberts in August of last year.
Judge Neithercut sentenced him to a minimum of 6-years and a maximum of 40-years in prison.
In an effort to get harsher sentence, prosecutors reminded the judge of the gruesome details of the incident.
Prosecutor's also said evidence showed Pittmon had taken heavy doses of alcohol and drugs earlier in the evening but was sober at the time of the stabbing.
We spoke to the the victim's brother who traveled from Chicago to be in court for the sentencing.
