Friends and family of Darwin Smith, the 76-year-old man who walked away from the Genesee Gardens Tuesday, have organized search parties to find him.
More than 30 volunteers have been searching the area surrounding Genesee Gardens, which is located on Calkins Road, just east of Linden Road, in Flint Township.
Darwin's son, Jeff Smith, tells NBC25 his father had recently suffered a stroke.
He says his Darwin left the community to go visit his wife, who suffers from Alzheimer's and is living in a retirement home in Grand Blanc.
Jeff says his father has been forgetful and easily disoriented since suffering the stroke.
Darwin checked into Genesee Gardens on Monday.

The Flint Township Police Department is looking for a 76-year-old missing man.
Police say that Darwin Smith walked away from Genesee Gardens, where he was recovering from a stroke.
He was last seen September 3rd between 12:30 pm and 5:30 pm at the Genesee Gardens. The Genesee Gardens is located at 4495 Calkins Road, east of Linden Road.
